Introduction

We are a Hungarian family. I have a son, Peter, who is 6 years old.

I graduated as an international relations expert and I used to work for international companies in different countries.

As I am a fan of foreign cultures and languages and I enjoy being with children, some years ago I started to teach English to kids.  From then on I have been learning  more and more about the acquisition of foreign languages in early childhood.

To improve my knowledge in this field, I completed a course in pedagogy.

A child’s brain is like a sponge. I believe that the best time and easiest way to learn a second language is in childhood. In addition, it has many advantages and they can learn the language through play.

When my son was born, I started to raise him bilingually. Now he can speak Hungarian and English fluently.  Since he was born, I have been speaking  in English to him for a couple of hours a day. We play,  cook, sing songs,  read books, and do arts&crafts in English.

I wanted to share our experience to encourage other children and parents, so I wrote a storybook about this topic. It’s not only a storybook, it also includes activities.

I wish that all the kids could experience  this  fantasic way to get to know the world and speak other languages.
